Akeome Battle — Okayama's New Year dance battle running since 2005 — returned to TERRA SQUARE (formerly MOVEUP CAFE) in Tamachi, Kita Ward on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The reach widened from Chu-Shikoku to include Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo and Oita, with a Toronto/Osaka mixed crew also crossing in. Three brackets ran in parallel: Regional Breakin' Crew Battle with 35 crews, College Freestyle Crew Battle with seven universities, and U15 Breaking Solo Battle with 78 entries — U15 alone had grown roughly 2.5× from last year's 32. Seven hours, three brackets, one floor.
Regional Breaking went to Kyoto's Body Carnival Zoo, who beat the Toronto/Osaka mixed crew Supernaturalz in the final. TOP4 finished with Nagasaki's StyleSummitCrew and Amagasaki's アマタイコク. College Freestyle went to Kobe University's JETTER, who took out Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare's Stepper's crew in the final — the same Stepper's crew that had stopped SBF's seven-in-a-row run a year earlier, this time handing the title to Kobe. U15 Solo went to Okayama's Lil ISSIN over fellow local kiichi — a revenge title after last year's runner-up finish.
The day lives on in five places: the Judgames event page for competition info, the shared album with 300 photos, and the YouTube playlists for Regional, College and U15 — 25 battle clips total.
