01 — Overview
Breaking, in the middle of the mall.

Monday, October 14, 2024 — Sports Day, a national holiday. A free-admission floor was set inside the atrium of AEON Mall Okayama, 1F Mirai Square. OK BREAK 2024, hosted by the Okayama Breaking Culture Association, drew 42 crews and 125 dancers from 19 prefectures (Okayama, Hiroshima, Shimane, Yamaguchi, Kagawa, Ehime, Tokushima, Kochi, Hyogo, Osaka, Nara, Shiga, Aichi, Gifu, Ishikawa, Tokyo, Aomori, Nagasaki, Okinawa) and overseas (USA, France). Breakin' 3vs3 and B-Girl 1on1 ran side by side, in plain view of passing shoppers.
In 3vs3, sixteen teams advanced from two preliminary blocks. Through closely-judged knockouts, two-time defending champions HEROES (KENT / m0nm0i / HAYATO1 — Osaka / Gifu) pushed through with originality and depth of vocabulary, dispatching Osaka's Depochwave in the final to seal a three-peat. B-Girl 1on1 fielded 20 entries from nine prefectures. Kurashiki-born Mirei, the 2024 All-Japan Junior B-Girl champion, climbed the bracket on power moves and clean footwork, beating Ishikawa's 7G in the final to take the title — the first hometown champion in OK BREAK history.
A live feed went up on every signage screen across the mall thanks to Haremachi Studio, and the open atrium meant the upper floors were watching too — children stayed glued to the monitors. Post-Paris breaking, brought into a public space at zero meters from the crowd. The day's archives live in three places: the Judgames event page, the shared album with 300 photos, and the YouTube playlist with 15 battle clips.
