¥100 entry — the underground plaza lives again.

Shiro-Chika Battle

On November 26, 2022, the Okayama Breakin Culture Association held Shiro-Chika Battle at the Okayama Shiro-Chika underground plaza. Once a bimonthly fixture famous for its "¥100 entry, winner judges next time" rule, the event returns after a long hiatus.

The open 1v1 drew 66 dancers from 9 prefectures (Okayama, Kagawa, Hiroshima, Ehime, Tokushima, Hyogo, Tottori, Osaka, Gifu). Powermove expanded from a planned 13 to 21 with walk-ins, and the B-girl bracket pulled 7 dancers from 4 prefectures. The Breaking final came down to two Okayama b-boys — Rudyze edged Yuichiraw by the thinnest tiebreaker margin. In Powermove, Roman — grade 2 at Toyo JHS in Kurashiki and October's JDSF Chu-Shikoku champion — worked the room with headspins and airtracks. In B-girl, DORI, a grade 1 at Johto HS and former Chu-Shikoku champion, took it on pure skill.

The association will continue to stage breaking events in open public spaces, tying the scene to regional revitalization, sponsor and municipal outreach, and a growing competitive field. Entry & details on Judgames.
