Haremachi Breakin' 2025.

On Saturday, August 23, the Okayama Breaking Culture Association ran Haremachi Breakin' 2025 on the open-air floor of Morinomachi Picnic Terrace, a mall-attached space inside the Morinomachi Grace complex, a 12-minute walk from JR Okayama Station. Breaking 2vs2 brought together 50 crews from eleven prefectures — Okayama, Hyogo, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Ehime, Kochi, Kagawa, Osaka, Gifu, Shimane, Tokushima — and overseas, with Steelish flying in from Germany and a Tokushima/Taiwan pair forming leisurely&Larry. Alongside it ran a brand-new format, U15 Shuffle 2vs2, with 35 solo entries from middle-school and younger dancers. The Breaking field ran through A- and B-block prelims (pickup format) into a 16-crew main bracket.

The Breaking TOP4 came down to one home crew — BC Okayama (Eba / Spia, Okayama) — alongside zomi & Roman (Gifu / Okayama), 玄 (PU-SK8 / Yamibakura, Yamaguchi / Hiroshima), and Sweet Coast BreakBoys Club (HIROTO / Aguro), who had taken three of last year’s four TOP4 slots and now held one. In the semis, BC Okayama eliminated 玄 on one side; zomi & Roman knocked out Sweet Coast on the other. The four-move final (two moves per dancer) pitted the home favorite against the Gifu-bred zomi paired with Okayama’s Roman — and zomi & Roman pushed through to claim the first Haremachi 2vs2 title. The prelim A-block had already drawn the picture: zomi & Roman first with 257 points, BC Okayama second with 255 — a two-point gap that held all the way to the final.

The newly added U15 Shuffle 2vs2 picked the top 16 of 35 solo qualifiers and paired them by lottery, drawing playing cards on stage. The final saw Himeji/Okayama’s TK-ROCK & MEISA edge Kobe/Kurashiki’s TORAJI & bboy rito for the inaugural Shuffle title — the two having never danced together until that day. TK-ROCK had also reached Breaking TOP8 the same day as half of BOBY ROCK (TK-ROCK / RENTA), so a junior-high dancer left a mark in both the open class and the new junior format on a single evening. Judges were Jerry Very Much (Since / 筋肉番付), Herowin (Shangli-La / PeaceSkool Hiroshima), and Swampman (Sweet Coast BreakBoys Club) — Swampman, on Sweet Coast’s TOP4 as a competitor last year, took the judges’ chair this time. DJs NOV -Roger Groove- (K9CREW / kicks orchestra) and Long Neck ran the sound; Ku-chang (Okayama B-boyz / High Roof Crew) was on the mic. Backed by sponsors Innosho Forestry, JOHNBULL, Kamons, Nishi-Nihon Housing Support, and zerosta, with support from the Okayama Urban Sports Association (UX), the association turns next to OK BREAK 2025 on Saturday, October 11 — Breaking 3v3 + B-Girl 1v1 at AEON Mall Okayama’s Mirai Square.
