OK BREAK 2023.

On September 16, 2023, the 1F lobby of Hotel Granvia Okayama — the atrium between the banquet reception and Chungking Szechwan — became a battleground for one day. A stage and floor mat were laid down, lighting and speakers rigged under the eight-story void, and entries arrived from 17 prefectures plus Artistreet from Korea. A ¥1,000,000 total purse split between 3on3 and B-Girl 1on1. OK BREAK's second edition, and its first attempt at moving the battle out of the club and into a public-facing venue.

The 3on3 division pulled 14 crews from two qualifying blocks and seeded them with defending champion HEROES and international guest Artistreet for a 16-crew main bracket. The final came down to those two — HEROES (m0nm0i / KENT / HAYATO1) against Artistreet (HEADY / Mario / Slain) — and HEROES closed it out with the consistency that carried them all day, taking OK BREAK back-to-back. In B-Girl 1on1, an eight-dancer main bracket brought NaNaKa from Osaka and YURIE from Tokyo to the final, where YURIE — the Red Bull BC One Cypher Japan 2022 winner — took the title.

The day ran in parallel with Okayama Urban Sports Association's "UrbanX 2nd session," with BMX, parkour, and freestyle football events around the east side of Okayama Station. The battle was covered the next morning in the Sanyo Shimbun, with additional coverage from NHK and OHK. The association will continue moving battles out of closed clubs and arenas and into public spaces across the prefecture — growing the scene locally while attracting visitors to the city.
